Rockto.com is a social recommendation platform where users can share and reccommend links to others. The platform is also integrated to other social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter, thus, reaching an even wider audience (Snow Ball Spreading Effect).
Unlike other social media sites that provide information with a lot of noise and distractions, Rockto provides a more direct approach and focuses on the content of the information. Articles, Image, Video/Audio Streaming and any kinds of content supported. Just copy the content url & post it to Rockto.
Rockto comes with a more personal concept, visitors are provided with a wide selection of topics that give the freedom to prospective members of Rockto to be able to directly choose topics that suit their personalities or interests.
In the profile page of each user’s account there are also changes that were previously not available such as topics that they have chosen will appear at the top left. What makes it more personal is with this feature the user will only receive the information in accordance with any topic of interest. In addition, it is also equipped with a feature selection proposal friends and friends based on the similarity of the selected topic. Furthermore, “topic page” contain of all the information ever posted with specific subject, which easier for someone to find that information.
There are “Element of Fun‟ in Rockto: members can collect Rockpoints for every “Rock‟ they earn from their posts. With this Rockpoints, members can redeem it into some real freebies. Rockto also gives a lot of cool badges, that can be earned by doing some challenges.
In 2011, Rockto won iMulai (Indonesia Mulai) 3.0 Competition held by Microsoft Indonesia and USAID, Bubu Awards v.07 for The Best Digital Marketing Plan for Start Up, and also become the finalist of Echelon 2011 Indonesia Satellite. In addition, Rockto has been recognized internationally by many publications and also listed as one of 32 Startups to Watch in Asia.
